Staying on Top of Your PDP Hours and Licensing Cycle

Keeping track of your Professional Development Program (PDP) hours and licensing cycle can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to make it simple! Follow these steps to manage your education requirements and stay compliant.

PDP Framework and Requirements

The Professional Development Program (PDP) is mandatory to maintain your CADREB membership, requiring 21 hours of professional development within each two-year licensing cycle:

• 12 Accredited Hours: Courses that cover core competencies like Ethics, Contracts, and Risk Management.
• 9 Self-Directed or Accredited Hours: These can include informal or formal learning activities, such as client management or technology training.

🚨 Important: Surplus hours earned during one cycle cannot be carried forward to the next.

Accessing Your Member Portal

To get started, visit your member portal at:

Navigating the Education Tab

Once logged in, head to the Education tab at the top. Here’s what you’ll find:

1. Course Calendar
   • View upcoming courses hosted by CADREB and register online.
   • Registration and payment must be completed through the portal as we can no longer accept credit card payments at the office.
2. My Licensing Cycle
   • Check your completed courses and track your PDP status.
   • Pay attention to your PDP category:
     • SD (Self-Directed): Maximum 9 self-directed hours count toward the required 18 hours per licensing cycle.
     • AC (Accredited): You need at least 12 accredited hours, but you can complete all 18 as accredited.
3. Education Transcript
   • Download a copy of your full education transcript for your records.
4. Report Self-Directed Activities
   • Fill out this form to report any self-directed hours you’ve completed on your own.
   • Hours earned through office learning are typically reported by your office.
5. My Course History & Receipts
   • View all completed education and download receipts for classes hosted by CADREB.
   • Please note that CADREB does not have access to receipts from BCREA, Sauder School, or other boards.

Completing Accredited Courses Online

In addition to courses hosted by CADREB, you can complete accredited courses through:

• BCREA (bcrea.ca): Log in to BCREA Access to find self-paced accredited courses.
• Sauder School of Business: Explore their catalog for additional accredited options.

Remember, BCREA’s “Self-Paced Online Courses” are still accredited and not considered self-directed.

Important: BCFSA Relicensing Requirements

BCFSA has two required courses to maintain your license:

• Legal Update
• Ethics

These courses do not count towards your 21 PDP hours.
To register, complete, or track these courses, visit BCFSA.ca and log in to your IRIS account.

🚨 Note: You do not need to report your 21 PDP hours to BCFSA to renew your license. Additionally, you do not need to report your Ethics or Legal Update courses to CADREB.
